File 006 · Terms of Service
Terms a human can actually read.
The deal, in writing: what we provide, what you agree to, and the one clause that genuinely matters more here than anywhere else — the one about your keys.
Last updated: July 2026 · Effective for the open beta · Written by humans, checked against the code.
§ 01 · The Agreement
Who's agreeing to what.
These terms are a contract between you and Adamanture Private Limited covering the Unlike Mail apps and services. Using the service means you accept them. If you're accepting for a company, you're promising you're allowed to.
§ 02 · The Service
What Unlike Mail is — and its beta status.
Unlike Mail is an end-to-end encrypted email client that works on top of the mailbox you already have — Google, Microsoft or Zoho by a direct sign-in, or any IMAP mailbox connected from the desktop app. Your mail stays at your provider; we add sealing, and we never hold the keys — the full design is public on the blueprint.
Beta means beta: some features may misbehave, and the interface might occasionally surprise you. The cryptography is not one of those features — the primitives are standardized and the design is published. We fix things fast; report anything weird to contact@adamanture.com.
§ 03 · Accounts
Eligibility and honesty.
You need to be at least 13 (or your local digital-consent age) and the legitimate owner of the mailbox you connect. Keep your enrolled devices and passphrase safe — see the next section for why that matters more here than anywhere else. One person per account; teams get team accounts.
§ 04 · The Clause That Matters
Your keys, your responsibility.
Read this one twice
Unlike Mail is built so that we cannot access your keys or your sealed data — ever, for anyone, including you. There is no master key, no recovery desk, no backdoor. If you lose every enrolled device and your passphrase, your sealed history is permanently unreadable, and no amount of support tickets, court orders, or crying (ours included) can change the math.
By using the service you accept this trade: absolute privacy, absolute responsibility. Keep a second device enrolled or remember your passphrase. We will remind you; we cannot rescue you.
§ 05 · Acceptable Use
Don't be the reason for new rules.
Don't use Unlike Mail to break the law, send spam or malware, harass people, probe or overload our or your provider's systems, or resell the service without an agreement. Encryption protects your privacy; it doesn't suspend the law or your provider's own terms. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or other people — with notice where the situation allows it.
§ 06 · Fees & Trials
The money terms.
- Trial: 30 days free, no card, no auto-conversion — the trial ends, it doesn't silently start billing you.
- Pricing: $1.5/month or $15/year (two months free). Teams: the same, per user. Prices may change; never mid-term, and never without notice before your renewal.
- Cancellation: one button, effective at the end of the paid period. No retention team, no exit interview.
- Refunds: if we materially failed to provide the service, email support and a human will make it right. We don't hide behind "all sales final".
§ 07 · Third-Party Services
Your provider's rules still apply.
Unlike Mail connects to Google / Google Workspace, Microsoft / Office 365, and Zoho Mail under the OAuth consent you grant, which you can revoke at your provider at any time. Your use of those mailboxes remains governed by their terms.
For a mailbox connected over IMAP from the desktop app, you supply the credential — in most cases an application-specific password issued by your provider — and it is held on your device, encrypted, never on our servers. You remain responsible for complying with your mail host’s terms, and for revoking that application password with them if you stop using Unlike Mail.
Our use of data received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements: mailbox data is used only to provide the features you see, never for advertising, and never transferred except as needed to run the service — which, in our architecture, mostly means it isn't transferred at all.
§ 08 · Ownership
Yours stays yours. Ours stays ours.
Your mail and everything you create is yours — we claim no license beyond the processing required to run the service you asked for. The Unlike Mail software, brand, and design are ours. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product; that's the whole point of sending it.
§ 09 · The Legal Armor
Disclaimers, liability, termination.
Disclaimers: the beta is provided "as is". We don't warrant uninterrupted service, and we can't warrant your provider's uptime at all. We do stand behind the published security design — including its stated limits.
Liability: to the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including sealed data made unreachable by lost keys (§ 04: that one is physics, not negligence).
Termination: you can leave any time (one button, § 06). We may terminate for material breach of these terms, with notice where practical. On termination, deletion runs per the privacy policy.
§ 10 · Housekeeping
Law, changes, contact.
- Governing law: India, with disputes in the courts of Adamanture Private Limited's registered seat — after we've genuinely tried to fix it over email first.
- Changes: material changes are announced by email before they take effect. Continued use means acceptance; leaving is one button.
- Contact: contact@adamanture.com — a human reads it.
